In Quiet Whispers
In quiet whispers I call to you
Can you not hear
Through dew drenched mornings and sultry summer nights I speak your name
My question is simple, my message the same
You who tread my paths and share the same breath of wind, please hear my plea
All that you do matters to me
For I that have been with you since the dawn of the ages now cry for help
You have reshaped my face to suit your liking
Paved my fields and polluted my seas
Stripped my forests and soil of all I have patiently laid down
Merely to satiate an unquenchable desire for more
Generation upon generation you wade through the waters of human folly
Is it any wonder I tremble beneath your feet
As the sun warms your back and rains soften your thirst, so it is for all my creatures
While I spoke to you of stewardship, you but heard dominion
Restore unto me that which was loaned your long distant ancestors
For they who once so simply lived call to you in quiet whispers
Mother Earth, Father Sun and Sister Moon, we love you so
