On July 28th I was on my way out of the Ontario, California airport, travelling to Omaha, Nebraska via SouthWest Air.

Connecting flight (no transfer) in Las Vegas, an elderly couple in their 70's sat in the two seats next to my window seat.

Intent on getting some sleep during the flight, I smiled and nodded politely as they got settled in.

I took note of the gentleman's careful concern that his wife was comfortable, did she need anything out of the bag before he put it up, ect.

That's very interesing and contradictory to what an American settled in Germany wrote to me once saying that western women are fiercly independent and do not need men anymore in their lives. As a woman I felt this chilling, 'coz without a committed relationship, you are simply lost in this vast, vast world like a bee in a garden of flowers. Always dissatisfied, restless, depressed and what not. Anyone there who has something different to say to this so that I can change my mindset.
