On the Forum section, someone asked how members (presumably veggie or vegan) felt about kissing a meat eater. Of the many respnses, I thought the response of Red Amaris, (Female, 18, Texas) was spot on.

"It seems to me that the point is being missed here. The root of the issue is not whether or not it's tolerable or disgusting to kiss someone who consumes animals. Frankly, it's a selfish mindset. The point is that we all want to be with someone who shares our vision for change in this world, and who chooses a lifestyle that meshes harmoniously with the lifestyle we choose. Why question whether or not you should kiss a meat-eater? Ask yourself if you're with the kind of person you dream of being with. Is the kind of world they want to invest in to create, the kind of world you are excited about creating with them? Because that's what having children is: you are investing and influencing the next generation which will either create or hinder the creation of the kind of world you dream of living in :). I don't know about you, but that makes me excited about having children some day. Secondly, the "us and them" attitude really bothers me because positive change rarely comes from a segregationist attitude. Change comes through loving and welcoming despite differences in beliefs and values. Like Gandhi: there are more conducive ways of fighting for victory over cruelty than creating separation."
